CARING FOR YOUR KNIFE: All Opinel wooden-handle knives are not designed to be washed in the dishwasher. Heat and moisture will cause any wood to swell which will make the knife hard to open at times. Opinel suggests carefully hand-washing your knives and leaving them out to air dry.

  Love this knife for my 5yr old. Has a rounded end so he can’t poke himself. Easy to secure the blade when using so it won’t fold back down.

  Flimsy design, especially blade locking mechanism if you can call it that way, is spinning ring at the base of the blade. You have to spin this ring to lock and unlock blade and this ring is super tight and to close to the blade. When blade is open and you trying to lock it, you can cut your fingers on the blade. As this design for kids it’s very unsafe, if kid forgets to spin liking ring or doesn’t spin far enough, by by fingers. The only good thing about it is rounded tip and case Nd that’s about it
