This is directed to Amazon more than the seller. Customers don’t give a crap about your internal systems and labels!! The labels cover useful information that can’t be seen just to comply with the silly labels. You are a conglomerate; figure out a better system!!
The device fits my Opinel No. 8 which I don't use as much as my No. 6. There was a barcode covering the instructions so I didn't know how to install it and was thinking of returning it. But, looking on the website I saw how to do it and it actually carries pretty nice for a big knife. I would say the collar slightly impedes the knife's locking collar, but. this is not designed to be "quiick", tactical knives. More for cutting cheese and fruit.
This is brilliant and ask why this is not a standard option, if not included? Seems a natural fit to today's lifestyle.-Ryan
Works exactly as described. The clip can move and the knife will not open/close until the clip is rotated. Taking care not to let the clip turn solved this problem
This accessory fits perfectly onto the Opinel No. 8 original folder. Unfortunately, there's no way to lock it into position on the viral block ring. Rather, it slides over in front of the blade when you're trying to lock and unlock it. Other than that, it looks great and provides a clip to attach to your pocket EDC go bag.
An easy non-invasive way to mod your Opinel. This product is well engineered with quality materials. Easy installation with no tools needed and no modifications to the knife. Pro tip: I also used the O-Clip on a Opinel #10 Slim and it fit and functioned perfectly.
The clip was a little tough to get onto the knife itself, but now that it's on I don't ever see it coming off again. The fit is super tight, but the clip can and will slide and rotate independently of the locking collar. It can be a little annoying, basically having to turn the collar to lock/unlock the knife and then fiddle with the clip so it clears the blade, but it's not a deal breaker. The clip itself isn't too rigid and is very easy to slip onto a pocket or belt. The only other downside is... $23? Really? The knife itself doesn't cost that much.
Very nice. Holds the knife firmly in place in my pocket. Works well with the lock feature of an Opinel.
I have no use for a pocket knife without a pocket clip. I had no interest in Opinel until the Clipinel and O-Clip hit the market. Price point is pretty steep when you consider the base price of the Opinel 8 is usually under $20, but it's the item I needed to add to the knife if it was ever going to be considered for daily carry. The clip installed easy enough. I really struggled with the factory lock ring not staying put under the new clip when rotating to open or close the knife. Ultimately, I opted to super glue the factory lock ring to the metal handle collar to keep it from rotating with the clip. You can see in the picture where a little dab of gel super glue was applied to keep the factory lock ring from rotating. For me this was the only workable solution to keep the factory lock ring from rotating with the clip.I've watched and waited over the last 8 months hoping there would be a version 2 of the clip that would fix the issue with the factory lock collar and O-clip getting out of sync with each other and making opening and locking the knife a fidgety affair. No luck on that front.IMHO, the best solution here would be for Opinel to modify the factory lock ring to include a pocket clip and offer it as an optional upgrade. It's not difficult at all to remove and replace the factory lock ring. Next best would be to modify to O-Clip to be a direct replacement for the Opinel lock ring. We can hope one of these options will be available in the future.
For me this clip added to my knife is really nice. I like the addition of the clip and plan to keep it on my knife.. I find that it makes opening, closing and locking the knife a bit more difficult. I also wish it was available for different size Opinels.
