Ebony is a rare and luxurious wood coming from the forests of Africa. Thanks to its beautiful density and deep black color, ebony is traditionally used in marquetry. To get a velvet touch, a specific wax is applied manually on each handle.
12C27 Sandvik Stainless Steel Blade: We use Sandvik 12C27 modified stainless steel. It is anti-corrosive thanks to the addition of chrome and requires no special maintenance.

Very nice knife. The blade is very reflective with a nice sharpness to it, while the handle is very sturdy and solid.

I love this knife. Do not boil this knife in linseed oil like how some people are showing in youtube to make water-resistant. The wood got a small crack..

Traditional Opinel quality, at least as good as the stock version I have.The problem is that the picture shows the handle/scales to be JET BLACK, made of Gabon Ebony.This is NOT the case. The wood is Macassar Ebony, i.e. black w/ streaks of brown.

Qualité du couteau Opinel excellente, en bois d'ébène il est très beau. Présenté dans une boîte en carton (seule critique : la boîte pourrait être un peu plus jolie). Sinon c'est parfait.

Spitzen Modell . Handschmeichler , super Stahl ( 12c27M , hat zusätzlich 3%Molypdän , und 2% Vanadium ) spürt mann beim schärfen. Leider gibt es das Messer nicht größer. Habe schon 13 Modelle , mal schauen was mir noch fehlt.
