My buddy told me to check out this brand, we’re both knife enthusiasts. Couldn’t decide which size, said heck with it and got the whole box set. I also had planned to gift them as another reviewer mentioned, and upon first opening the box i thought “nope no way i’m breaking up this family.” AWESOME knives, beautiful, well made, sharp and light, love the blade lock, just all around fantastic. They’re inexpensive, so i was wondering about the quality, but they are excellent. I LOVE that they have videos showing their production process, says to me as a consumer that they are proud of their product and are confident in the quality. As far as the box set, box itself is very nice and they range in size, in small increments, from “intimidatingly large” to (my wife's quote:) “oh my god look how adorable the tiny one is!!” This knife snob is impressed, highly recommend any of their knives!!

I had never heard of Opinel until a couple months ago and puchased the Opinel No8 from Amazon after reading a write up about this company somewhere online. When I received it I loved the quality and how light the knife was. But in my opinion the No8 was a little to large for an EDC so I came back to purchase a No 6 as that is what most reviewers recommended. After checking out all the different sizes, blade choices, handle choices etc I came upon this 10 piece set for only $94.00. Including tax my order was just shy of $100.00 or around $9.98 per knife plus a decent display case. This order was placed on May 26th of this year and I received it yesterday June 5th. I have inspected all the knives and each one was in perfect condition. The best part (for me anyway) is that I see the cost has increased to $128.00 in 10 days (give or take) Even though I would recommend Opinel knives to a friend I would not have purchased it at the current price... But I am still going to purchase a No5 for an EDC so as not to tarnish my shiny new set. Good Luck and Peace to ALL.

If you like Opinel knives, what could be better than ten of them in a nice wooden display case? All sizes included, except #1, which would be tiny. And #11 which is not enough of a difference between 10 and 12 to include. I think it's #5 up that include Opinels unique blade lock. These are the exact same knives they've made for ages. Just like my first I got more than 50 years ago. The same knife that Pablo Picasso and other greats used (or still use).

For about $10 a knife! Great! They're pretty sharp coming out of the box but not crazy sharp. Also, you see a lot of people talking about the full flat grind or whatever on these knives. They almost have that but then have a tiny little microbevel. So if you want to actually hone them that way where you lay the whole blade down flat, you'll have a lot of steel to grind away. Also, I didn't know this before I got them, but below size 6 the knives don't come with a lock mechanism.

Opinel knives are excellent for the price and I use my #9 all the time. Stainless steel is OK by me, but the product description said this was a set of high-carbon blades. The photo shows a display box with foam cutaways, but the product delivered had a thin molded plastic single-piece rack. Ninety percent of those who are buying this probably plan to use it as a nice display rather than a rack of blades for use, and those little differences do make a less attractive display than one would expect. Finally, Opinel #2 through #4 are slip-joints and do not have the wonderfully simple and effective o-lock. That is also not visible in the photograph, even if most people buying knives so small are looking for a novelty more than a tool. Ten blades for $93 is still quite a steal, but it would be nice for the photo to match the product.

Excellent quality. A gentleman and working man's knives. They are classy, functional and extremely sharp all at the same time. This vendor also did an excellent job in shipping this product in a timely manner!

This is a great starter set for any Opinel or knife enthusiast. You could even buy the set and give the knives away individually as gifts. The wooden display case is not the highest quality, so it really doesn't factor all too much into the cost of the product. I bought this set when it was going for $100, and that was a steal. I love being able to pick which knife I carry everyday.

Each knife was coated with an oil that had become sticky. A heavy coat of oil had been applied and so the stickiness was just as thick. The smallest knives don't lock. A folding knife that doesn't lock is both useless and dangerous.

Love these knives, and we use them for a restaurant business. If you buy them, follow the care instructions very carefully and they will last a lifetime.

Awesome set. Opinel is great. This is labeled incorrectly. The Inox is stainless steel and the Carbone is the carbon steel. I bought this thinking it was carbon steel, as it was labeled the time I bought it, but it was the Inox stainless. Sent it back with no problems.Opinels are awesome and for the cost you cannot beat the quality.
